On the morning of August 24th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, secretary General of CBCGDF, visited the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), discussed with relevant leaders, and communicated with them on the national carbon standard.
The China National Institute of Standardization serves as the secretariat of 17 domestic standards committees, including the National Technical Committee on Carbon Emission Management of Standardization Administration, the National Technical Committee on Energy Foundation and Management of Standardization Administration, and the National Technical Committee on Water Conservation of Standardization Administration, and is responsible for drafting more than 350 national standards.
Dr. Zhou Jinfeng first introduced the achievements of the CBCGDF Standards Committee in the development of group standards. In addition to more than 20 group standards concerning biodiversity, ecological civilization, biosafety, green conferences, green enterprises, etc. It has recently issued ESG Evaluation Standards, Ecological Civilization and Healthy Township Construction Standards, and China Principles of Responsible Investment (CNPRI) group standards. This paper mainly discussed the carbon evaluation standard of enterprise, which is being developed with related leaders of the CNIS.
The relevant leaders of the CNIS expressed their great hope that the CBCGDF Standards Committee could participate in the drafting of relevant standards. Although the focus will be different, the two sides share the same goal. The institute’s leaders also stressed that the formulation of standards should be open and absorb opinions from all parties to optimize the standards.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides reached a consensus on the standard follow-up cooperation and other matters.
