CBCGDF was invited to jointly host the 2021 Ape Conference | CBD COP15

On September 29, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF), invited by Ian Redmond, wildlife scientist, Ambassador of the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS), chairman of the Ape Alliance and old friend of CBCGDF, held an online meeting to discuss the cooperation matters of the planned 2021 Ape Conference.

Earlier, on August 12, 2021, Ian also participated in the International Elephant Day Conference held by the International Department of CBCGDF as a specially invited co-host.

This Ape Conference echoes with Kunming CBD COP15. The agenda was initially set as follows:

Theme: apes, biodiversity and climate

Idea: primates are our allies in combating biodiversity loss and climate change

Online conference, divided into 3 parts

Part I Asian apes:

October 29, 11.00 to 12.30 GMT (19:00-20:30 Beijing time)

6 experts, 12 minutes per person, 9 minutes of Q & A after every 3 speakers

Part II African apes:

October 29, 14.00 to 15.30 GMT (22:00-23:30 Beijing time)

6 experts, 12 minutes per person, 9 minutes of Q & A after every 3 speakers

Part III natural capital:

October 29, 16.00 to 17.00 GMT (0:00-1:00 Beijing time, October 30)

Keynote speech given by Ralph Chami on new economic paradigm + expert group discussion
