“Sequencing all organisms is the reason for the existence of this organization”. Recently, CBCGDF joined the Earth BioGenome Project (EBP) ， another large international project after the Human Genome Project. The goal is to sequence and annotate approximately 1.5 million known eukaryotic species within 10 years. The initiative was launched in February 2017 by scientists from the University of California, Davis, and has received positive responses from scientists in China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Brazil and other countries.
EBP has three goals:
- Benefit human beings
- Conserve biodiversity
- Know the ecosystem
