The ocean is the cradle of life and the treasure house of resources. The ocean nurtures life, connects the world and promotes development. The ocean is an important area of global biodiversity governance and global science and technology governance. In order to actively respond to the call of “building an open and innovative ecology and participating in global science and technology governance” and help build a “a shared future of all life in ocean”, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) actively participates in global ocean governance, and will form a delegation to participate in the 2022 United Nations Ocean Conference.

On May 7, CBCGDF and ACTAsia jointly submitted the theme “Scaling up Ocean Action Based on Science and Innovation for the Implementation of Goal 14: Stocktaking, Partnerships and Solutions” online conference.

On May 24, CBCGDF received a letter from the secretariat of the 2022 World Ocean Conference, and the side meeting application submitted by CBCGDF has been approved.
The side event will be held online on June 30, and the themes will focus on marine biodiversity conservation and sustainable development from global to local, bio-friendly clean energy and marine education. Speakers will discuss marine animal conservation issues from different countries and disciplines.
This event will demonstrate the importance of partnership in overcoming obstacles and highlight opportunities from diverse social and political backgrounds and experiences.
