August 12, 2022 is the 11th World Elephant Day. The Elephant Working Group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will hold the 2022 World Elephant Day Conference on the same day, themed on Field mitigation measures for human elephant conflicts.
The topic of “Human Elephant Conflict” (HEC) has become the subject of extensive research and in-depth knowledge, not least due to the work of local NGOs working to protect African and Asian elephants, as well as IUCN working group.
This session aims to discuss practical solutions to conflict between humans and elephants, and will also analyze some previous rescue experiences. More broadly, it is hoped that the meeting will demonstrate that HEC requires a comprehensive plan and the involvement of all stakeholders, which is necessary for the success, including governments, NGOs, farmers and local communities. In addition, the regular exchange of information already implemented by the IUCN Working Group will allow the sharing of practical approaches to prevent these conflicts.
CBCGDF Media will broadcast the entire event live.
Laurent Dingli, a French ecologist and novelist, will attend the CBCGDF 2022 World Elephant Day Conference. He is also the Advisor to CBCGDF, a practitioner of environmental protection, and a photography enthusiast. In the past ten years, Dr. Dingli has devoted himself to the protection of nature and animal conditions.
