At the meeting, the delegates of the Latin American working group of CBCGDF first introduced the history of CBCGDF, focusing on the successful case of reintroducing the Milu Deer species(David’s deer) at the beginning of the establishment of CBCGDF. Subsequently, Werner T. Flueck presented the difficult course of protecting endangered huemul deer (Hippocamelus Bisulcus) as an umbrella species in Argentina. He focused on Argentina’s experience and current situation in the protection and conservation of huemul, especially the difficulties and challenges At present, as the national animal of Argentina, people have some knowledge about it, but the conservation is far from enough. For example, huemuls lack food sources in winter. At the same time, with the development of agriculture, the habitat of huemuls has been further squeezed and reduced; For example, in the protection of endangered species such as huemuls, laws and policies are also facing challenges.

Finally, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the future and enhance understanding and friendship between the two peoples from the perspective of non-governmental organizations, and will also share their respective experiences and good success stories in biodiversity conservation.
