On September 22, 2022, the Legal Working Committee of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) hosted a discussion on the “Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law (Draft)“. Experts and scholars from related fields, non-profit organizations, volunteers, media representatives and other guests proposed at the meeting amendments to the Draft.
Based on the actual ecological situation of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the following issues were discussed in the seminar: the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law (Draft) in terms of legislative purpose, legal terminology, the discrepancy between legal provisions and practical issues, and suggestions for adding more humanistic and geographical elements. The meeting was broadcast live on CBCGDF Media with 180,000 people participating online.
This seminar has two parts: Practice sharing and Discussion. Based on their own research in the field of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, experts and scholars put forward professional suggestions on the overall structure, legislative purpose, and legal provisions of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law (Draft).
Finally, Ma Yong, Deputy Secretary-General of CBCGDF, after expressing his gratitude to the experts for their suggestions, made a detailed summary of the seminar and put forward 5 suggestions for revision of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law (Draft) .
