On the morning of September 27, 2022, the International Department of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) received an invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, will participate in the online climate dialogue held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia as an expert on the evening of September 29, 2022. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng will give a keynote speech at the fifth group meeting – technology transfer (Mesa 5: Transferencia de tecnología).

Dr. Zhou Jinfeng will share relevant technologies for tackling climate change in terms of new energy, new materials, new ways and agricultural technologies.
【Background】
The use of environmentally appropriate and accessible technologies has been identified as one of the important solutions to the climate crisis. Within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, developed countries are also obliged to provide technology to developing countries, however, this is another unfulfilled promise. In order to implement the Paris Agreement, provisions have been made to improve the flow of technology for the climate crisis, which is still in the process of being implemented. Clearly, development and unequal access to technology are deepening disparities and inequalities between countries around the world.
Discussions in this group will focus on:
- What elements should be included in technology transfer negotiations at the international level?
- Which technologies are necessary and central to addressing the climate crisis?
- How to assess ancient science, knowledge and technology to deal with today’s climate crisis?
