On September 16th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), led a team to visit an information technology enterprise. Based on the self-driving full-stack technology and operation services provided by the company, Dr. Zhou put forward suggestions of closely combining the smart transportation with carbon reduction and efficiency enhancement.
The application of autonomous driving technology in smart transportation is extremely important. The application of this technology has greatly promoted the progress of transportation, fully realizing scene customization, comprehensive scheduling, high efficiency, and environmentally friendliness and convenience. Using autonomous driving could get better traffic control and improve road traffic safety. Autonomous driving only reduces the carbon emissions of infrastructure equipment for urban smart transportation, but also have an impact on the carbon reduction of the entire urban transportation, making urban transportation more integrated.
Although smart transportation has indeed achieved a certain level of convenience and speed, it is still insufficient in carbon reduction. Dr. Zhou pointed out that in order to have accurate data for carbon reduction, the role of autonomous vehicles in carbon reduction needs to be further explored. Data support is needed to model and measure the efficiency of carbon reduction through the feedback of data and make corresponding assessment.
