Underwater fishing cage is a nightmare for foraging waterfowls, and it’s prohibited by the Chinese law. On Jan 17, 2023, CBCGDF’s local volunteers found a large number of illegal cages around the wetlands of Linhonghekou, Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province.
CBCGDF volunteers worked together with local natural resources authorities to clear them, and a surprising 40 such cages and 700 meters of mist nets have been destroyed after a whole afternoon’s efforts.
