Recently, the project department of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received an application to establish Community Conservation Area for Wetland at Wangkuixiwa, Heilongjiang Province. After careful investigation, the project department of CBCGDF has decided to establish this wetland conservation area to rescue endangered species, protect the wetland ecological environment, and assist in biodiversity conservation.
The Wetland at Wangkuixiwa in Heilongjiang Province is located in the Songnen Plain, with beautiful scenery and extremely abundant species and populations. It is a habitat and migration stop for fish, amphibians, birds and other animals. The wetland conservation area team has previously carried out multiple protection and rescue work, and assisted local relevant departments in dismantling bird nets and cracking down on illegal bird catching activities.
After more than 7 years of continuous efforts, CBCGDF has established more than 200 community conservation areas of natural ecosystem, biodiversity, cultural landscape and other types of reserves in more than 30 provinces and autonomous regions, including Xizang, Xinjiang, Henan, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai, Hainan, Hebei, Hubei and Hunan.
