Recently, CBCGDF received a notice named “Guidelines for Important Academic Conferences (2021)” from the General Office of the China Association for Science and Technology. After expert nomination, societies selection, and steering committee recognition, the “Important Academic Conference Guide (2021)” includes a total of 707 conferences recommended by 123 national societies (societies), including 545 domestic conferences and 162 international conferences. The CBCGDF recommended the 5th Good Food Summit.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will organize the 2021 United Nations Food System Summit. The purpose of this conference is to increase global awareness of food and formulate global commitments and action plans to transform the food system, which will not only solve hunger, but also reduce diet-related diseases and heal the earth. Critical progress can also be made on all 17 sustainable development goals. Guterres called on citizens to take concerted action to fundamentally change the way we produce, process and consume food.
The Fifth Good Food Summit in 2021 is an echo and extension of the United Nations Food System Summit. The Good Food Summit will focus on the popularization of the concept of sustainable consumption, and promote the cooperation of actors, enterprises, social organizations, the media, and the government to create more sustainable food environment. They look for the best practitioners in China, hoping them can share successful experience with global actors, which has important value for the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
