Recently, Pangolin Working Group of CBCGDF received a request from our volunteers to help contact with so-called Pangolin Protection & Research Center of National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
Since this branch institution has no official website and had barely left anything on the website of National Forestry and Grassland Administration, its competent administration. Nevertheless, according to an article published by a public account that belongs to Guangdong Forestry Administration, CBCGDF learned that a passer-by accidently found a lonely Chinese Pangolin while walking down the street. Therefore, instead of leaving it alone, this man sent it to a local police station, which in the next step sent this little animal to the Pangolin Protection & Research Center.
Here is the question: since this lonely little animal is pretty healthy, why it has to be taken care by human? CBCGDF firmly believes that this pangolin should come back the nature immediately instead of living under human care.

We not only feel confused about this management of wild animals, but also become curious about the pangolin institution itself. Since there are only few references on the internet about this organization, our delegates specially asked its competent administration, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, for further information. However, except for the picture above saying that this branch was officially established, we cannot acquire a direct contact information about it. So far, the department managing this branch has not given us any response.
We are looking forward to hearing any updates.
