Recently, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) applied to several government departments for environmental information disclosure in response to China Gold Inner Mongolia Mining Co., Ltd.’s illegal occupation and destruction of grasslands.

Satellite remote sensing images show that in 2021, the grassland area occupied by the company only for dumps, tailings ponds and open pits will increase by about 156 hectares compared with 2018. At present, the cumulative illegal occupation of grassland area is about 1,634 hectares, causing serious damage to the local grassland ecology.

It is expected that the relevant departments will disclose environmental information in a timely manner, and take practical and effective actions to stop the illegal behavior of the enterprise and restore the grassland ecological environment. the Research Dept. of CBCGDF will follow up and pay attention, and will initiate legal action in due course, and report on the relevant progress in a timely manner.
