Recently, the GBIF working group of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) uploaded the data of Solidago canadensis L. to Global Biodiversity Information Facility(GBIF) platform.
CBCGDF received the data from Mr. Maosheng Liu, a volunteer of CBCGDF Ecological Civilization Site and former chief reporter of China Science Daily.
It is reported that Liu Maosheng found the alien invasive species Solidago canadensis L. in Lengjia Village, Danbei Town, Danyang City, Jiangsu Province on October 30, 2022. This species is widespread in the villages and has grown in a large scale.
Solidago canadensis L. is originated from North America. It was introduced to China as an ornamental plant in 1935 and spread into weeds in 1980s. It is distributed in Zhejiang, Shanghai, Anhui, Hubei, Chenzhou, Jiangsu and Jiangxi. At present, Solidago canadensis L. , a relatively harmful invasive species in China, has been included in the second batch of the List of Alien Invasive Species in China.
