On the afternoon of April 17, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), led the CBCGDF Huaihe River Source Project Team to begin a biodiversity investigation in the CBCGDF Apis cerana  Community Conservation Area (CCAfa) in Tongbai County, Henan Province.

On the morning of April 18, with the strong support and cooperation of Tongbai County Government, Forestry Bureau and other relevant departments, Zhou Jinfeng led the project team to Tongbai Mountain Taibaiding Nature Reserve, China Huaihe Source Folk Museum (Huai Temple), etc. to conduct ecological protection and cultural research on the source of the Huaihe River.

It is as far as the eye can see for thousands of miles. It is 1140 meters above sea level. It is also known as Lingyun Peak and Baiyun Mountain. Tongbai County, Nanyang City, Henan Province and Hubei Province The province’s Suizhou City and Sui County each account for half. Taibaiding is located in the west corner of Tongbai County, in the hinterland of Tongbai Mountain, and is a provincial nature reserve.

Tongbai Mountain is located in the north subtropical monsoon climate zone, with four distinct seasons, warm and humid conditions, and is an area rich in biodiversity in China. Plants seen by the project team during the investigation include Platycladus orientalis ,Pteroceltis tatarinowii Maxim., Celtis julianae Emmenopterys henryi Oliv. etc.
