Water, wetlands and life are inseparable. As an observer to Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) has been committed to wetland conservation, promoting China’s deep participation in global environmental governance, and promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable use.

Participation in RAMSAR COP14 is an important task for the International Cooperation Department of CBCGDF in 2022, and preparatory work has already started. Recently, the International Cooperation Department of CBCGDF actively consulted with the Wetland Management Department of National Forestry and Grassland Administration to apply for participation in the 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP14) that will take place from 21 to 29 November 2022 in Wuhan, China and for hosting two wetland-themed side events, with the following 2 themes:
1) Community Conservation Area (CCAfa) as OECMs for Conserving Wetlands
2) Dialogue on Wetlands Conservation and Environmental Legal System
In the afternoon of January 11, 2022, the International Cooperation Department of CBCGDF contacted the organizer of the International Conference on Wetlands. We were informed that RAMSAR COP14 has just started preparation, and for now, no application for participation or holding side events is available, and we’re kindly suggested for further attention of the announcement on relevant websites open to public if any.
