CBCGDF Peoples vs Plastics Action During Youth Day

On May 4, Youth Day, Anshan volunteers from the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Reduce and Pick-up Plastics Working Group’s “Peoples vs Plastics” initiative organized several activities to commemorate this special day.

In the beginning, more than 30 volunteers from the Anshan Volunteer Flight Protection Team participated in an activity organized by the local authorities to release wild birds into nature.

After the release activity, a group of volunteers went to the Yurun Pear Garden to clean up the waste along the pavement, and another group of volunteers distributed the “People’s War on Plastics, We Walk Together – Reduce and Pick Up Plastics, Civilized Tour of the Park” leaflet to the tourists, explaining the “Peoples vs Plastics” and “Civilized Tour of the Park” and publicizing the knowledge of forest fire prevention and the content of anti-fraud warnings to visitors at the same time.

The activity lasted three and a half hours, and distributed over 100 leaflets, picked up a total of 6.55kg of various types of waste, including more than 500 cigarette butts.
