On April 25, 2024, a group of four volunteers from the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) came to Wangkui County, Heilongjiang Province for patrol.
Volunteers patrolled on foot and found many poisoned birds dying under the trees along with scattered bird poisons.
After the volunteers encountered suspicious persons at the scene, they immediately reported it to the county’s forest police brigade. After evidence collection and investigation, they found several birds that had been slaughtered in the suspect’s home. The scene was unbearable to watch.
